Cairo
A thousand years of layered city — Fatimid, Ottoman, Belle Époque, contemporary.
Cairo does not reveal itself in a day, nor in three. It is a city of long dinners, unhurried mornings on rooftop terraces, and evenings spent following the call to prayer through streets that have not been redrawn in seven hundred years.
We generally suggest four to six nights for Cairo, and even that tends to leave a list of things you'd like to come back for.
What we would not let you miss.

Cairo, seen closer.

The calendar, honestly.
Peak months are what most guidebooks recommend. Shoulder months are our favourites — warmer light, thinner crowds, and better rates. Warm months are possible but demand a slower pace.
Three moments we might build for you.
Al-Muizz after dark
A private evening walk with a historian through the Fatimid quarter, ending with mint tea in a historic caravanserai.
A guided museum morning
Long, unhurried hours at the Grand Egyptian Museum with a specialist Egyptologist. Where officially available, an early-entry slot can be requested for your dates.
A private dinner
A privately-guided dinner in a Cairo setting we consider carefully — venue, menu and any private-use arrangement are subject to the venue's and supplier's confirmation and availability, and are set out in your final proposal.
The quiet details.
- How long
- Four nights is the honest minimum; six lets Cairo breathe.
- Getting around
- Private car and driver throughout. Traffic is a fact of life — we plan around it.
- Dress
- Cairo is cosmopolitan and unfussy. For mosques, cover shoulders and knees; we carry scarves.
