Red Sea

The reef is the point. The sea is warm — and Atenara plans around quieter coastal horizons where feasible.

An overview

The Egyptian Red Sea holds some of the finest reef diving and snorkelling in the world. Our planning focuses on quieter coastal settings — small independent lodges and privately-arranged charters — rather than the busy resort strip.

Where suitable vessels and operators are available, we can arrange private sailing charters out of Hurghada, small lodges south of Marsa Alam, and week-long trips towards Ras Mohammed and quieter offshore reefs. Actual vessel, operator and route are confirmed in your final proposal, subject to availability and current conditions.

The essentials

What we would not let you miss.

  • N° 01A private Red Sea sailing charter with dive master and on-board chef (subject to suitable vessel and operator availability, confirmed in your final proposal)
  • N° 02Giftun, Abu Nuhas, and the Brothers Islands
  • N° 03Ras Mohammed National Park
  • N° 04Small lodges south of Marsa Alam, away from the resort strip
  • N° 05Sunset sail to Mahmya

When to go

The calendar, honestly.

Peak months are what most guidebooks recommend. Shoulder months are our favourites — warmer light, thinner crowds, and better rates. Warm months are possible but demand a slower pace.

Sample experiences

Three moments we might build for you.

N° 01

A week on the water

A privately-chartered sailing week with dive master and chef, planned around quieter reefs where feasible. Vessel, operator and itinerary are subject to availability and are confirmed in your final proposal.

N° 02

Ras Mohammed

The southernmost tip of Sinai — sharks patrolling the drop-off, coral in impossible colour.

N° 03

The Marsa Alam south coast

Small lodges, quieter beaches, and rare wildlife encounters (sightings never guaranteed).

Practical notes

The quiet details.

Where to base
Hurghada for reef access; Marsa Alam for privacy; Sharm for the great Sinai walls.
Certification
PADI courses can be arranged in-country; snorkeling requires no experience.
Season
March–May and September–November are ideal — warm water, calm seas, gentle sun.
